On October 22, 2022, STRATA Networks hosted their third annual STRATA Service Day, which brought together employees from around the Uintah Basin to volunteer to “Paint the Town STRATA Red.” Planned in partnership with Vernal City, the project involved repainting fire hydrants and curbs located throughout the Vernal downtown area. By the end of the project, close to 100 fire hydrants in the downtown area were repainted by volunteers.
“STRATA’s involvement with this project not only makes our city streets more presentable but also makes them much easier for our firefighters to locate when they are needed,” said Devin McKee, Vernal City Utilities Supervisor. "We appreciate them giving meaningful service to the community by making improvements to the city in both appearance and safety."
STRATA has always been very appreciative of local first responders, having donated to various programs in the past and offering discounts on services for local law enforcement, emergency medical support, firefighters, and search and rescue. This year, STRATA wanted to do more to show its gratitude for these individuals while also supporting Vernal City’s current efforts to revitalize downtown.
“We are very grateful of our local volunteer firefighters and all that they do for us, and we hope that this act of service demonstrates the appreciation and support that all of us at STRATA share,” said STRATA Networks General Manager/CEO Bruce Todd. “The people we have at STRATA are top-notch in a multitude of ways, and seeing them donate their time and energy to give back to our local community is a perfect example of that. We are starting to build a wonderful tradition of coming together to make the Uintah Basin a better place for all of us, and we look forward to continuing that tradition.”
This project marks the third companywide service project sponsored by STRATA Networks. Their previous projects have involved various community improvement projects, including park clean-ups, planting trees, painting buildings and city curbs, and packaging meal kits for local families in need.
