Following their 21st Annual Charity Golf Classic held last spring, STRATA Networks presented a record-breaking donation to the Con Amore School in Myton, Utah on August 24th. Con Amore School, serving the Duchesne community since 1977 and supporting students ages 5-22 with moderate to severe mental and physical disabilities, welcomed the donation during a back-to-school assembly held in front of the students, parents, and staff on the first day of school. Lola Stansfield, Con Amore Principal, was presented with a check by STRATA employees for $26,000 raised from the Golf Classic along with an additional $10,000 donation matched from CoBank, totaling a $36,000 donation.
"Support from companies like STRATA Networks is essential to keep our facility modernized and well-equipped for our students,” Stansfield stated. “We are so happy to be chosen as this year's recipient."
It has been roughly 15 years since the last addition to the Con Amore facility. These funds will allow upgrades and enhancements to the school's sensory room, support the construction of a wheelchair-accessible playground, and provide age-appropriate exercise equipment for the school's older students.
This donation was made possible through STRATA’s Annual Charity Golf Classic which has benefitted local charitable entities within the Uintah Basin for over 20 years, raising more than $300,000 since being created in 2001. Previous recipients include cancer recovery programs, food pantries, family support, victims' advocate programs, and more.
