STRATA Networks announced that they will be transitioning to a new voting process for this year’s Board of Directors election. Late last year, their Board of Directors voted to amend the Cooperative bylaws to provide for mail-in voting with an option to vote online instead of the traditional in-person voting at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting.
This year’s Annual Meeting of UBTA-UBET Communications Inc. (dba STRATA Networks) is scheduled for Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 6:30 PM at Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah. At the meeting, members will hear company reports and receive the results on the elections for the Board of Director positions in the Duchesne, Flattop, Fruitland, and Lapoint districts. The following individuals have filed to run for available Board seats: Duchesne District: Incumbent Rick Coil and Greg Garff; Flattop District: Incumbent Dana Shepard, running unopposed; Fruitland District: Incumbent Kent Peatross and Mindi Crowley; Lapoint District: Incumbent Aaron Reary, running unopposed.
As voting will not be available at the Annual Meeting like in the past, ballots must be cast in advance, either by mail or online during the period of May 12 through June 8, 2021. The Cooperative will be utilizing a third-party vendor to conduct a secure and reliable election to accurately tabulate the votes and provide trustworthy results. When voting is open, each Cooperative membership will receive a ballot in the mail, and those who have an email address as part of their main contact information will also receive an email from STRATA’s election vendor with a link to cast their vote online.
The newly elected Board members will be announced during the Annual Meeting on June 10th. Prior to the meeting, members are invited to join the Cooperative for a customer appreciation barbeque beginning at 4:30 PM. During the barbeque, members will have the chance to learn about new products and services from STRATA and visit with STRATA employees.
“We always look forward to meeting with our members at our Annual Meeting, and this year is no exception,” stated Kent Peatross, STRATA Networks Board President. “We hope that members take the opportunity to use their voice by participating in this year’s Board of Directors election, in its new format. It is one of the many benefits of being part of a Cooperative and we hope that the change in voting process will encourage more participation from members Basin-wide.”
